Car
If driving from Yerevan, take the M4 highway north towards Alaverdi. Continue on the M4 until you reach Akhtala. Look for signs directing you to the monastery-fortress. Parking is available near the entrance. Note that the road leading to the monastery can be narrow and winding.
Public Transport
From Yerevan, take a bus or minibus to Alaverdi. From Alaverdi, you can take a taxi to Akhtala Monastery, which costs approximately 1,500-2,000 AMD. Alternatively, you can take a local bus to Akhtala village and walk approximately 1.5km to the monastery. Keep in mind that bus schedules may be limited, so plan accordingly.
