Car
If you are driving from Goris, take the H44 road towards Tatev. The drive will take approximately 40 minutes, covering a distance of around 30 kilometers. Follow the signs for Tatev Monastery. Once you reach the turn-off for the monastery, you will see signs directing you to the parking lot. There is a small fee for parking, typically around 500 AMD.
Public Transportation
From Goris, you can catch a marshrutka (minibus) to Tatev. The marshrutkas leave from the main bus station in Goris. The fare is usually around 300 AMD, and the journey takes about 40 minutes. Inform the driver that you are going to Tatev Monastery, and they will drop you at the entrance road. From there, it is a short walk to the monastery itself.
Cable Car
For a unique experience, consider taking the Wings of Tatev cable car. You can drive or take a marshrutka to the cable car station, which is about 5 kilometers from the monastery’s entrance. The cable car ride offers stunning views and takes you directly to the monastery. The round-trip ticket costs approximately 6,000 AMD. Be sure to check the operating hours before you go, as they can vary.
