Getting There

From the main entrance of Tatev Monastery, head south towards the main courtyard. Continue through the courtyard until you reach the edge of the monastery complex. From here, take the path that leads east toward Gavazan. As you walk, look for signs indicating the direction to Gavazan, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the monastery. The path is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Cable Car
If you prefer a scenic route, you can take the Wings of Tatev cable car from the Tatev Monastery area. The cable car station is located near the monastery entrance. Purchase a ticket at the station; the round trip ticket costs approximately 5,000 AMD (about $10 USD). The cable car will take you to the other side of the Vorotan River, providing stunning views along the way. After arriving at the opposite station, you can hike back to Gavazan, which is a short 15-minute walk from the cable car station.
