From the Tatev Monastery complex, head southwest towards the main path leading down the hill. Follow this path for about 15-20 minutes, enjoying the scenic views. You will reach a fork; take the left path which leads to the Great Hermitage of Tatev. Continue along this path for another 10-15 minutes, and you will arrive directly at the Great Hermitage.
