If you're driving from the center of Tavush, head southeast on the main road (M-2). Continue for about 12 kilometers until you reach the village of Kirants. From the village, follow the signs leading to Kirants Monastery. The monastery is approximately 3 kilometers from the village, and the road may be unpaved in some sections, so drive carefully. There is no entrance fee to visit the monastery.
Public Transportation
To reach Kirants Monastery using public transportation, start at the central bus station in Ijevan, which is the main city in Tavush. Take a marshrutka (minibus) heading towards Kirants village. The fare is typically about 300-500 AMD (Armenian Dram). Upon arriving in Kirants village, you will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach the monastery. The path is straightforward, but be prepared for some uneven terrain.
Walking from Kirants Village
After arriving in Kirants village by car or public transport, you can walk to the monastery. The route is well-marked, and you will follow a dirt path that leads you up a hill. It's about a 30-40 minute walk, so wear comfortable shoes. The monastery is situated on a scenic hillside, and the views along the way are quite beautiful.
