From Aparan, you'll need to hire a taxi to reach Lake Kari, the starting point for most Aragats hikes. Expect to pay around 5,000-7,000 AMD for the taxi. Be aware that taxi fares can vary, so negotiate the price beforehand.

A taxi directly from Yerevan to Mount Aragats (Lake Kari) takes approximately 2 hours and costs around $30-$35. While more expensive than public transport, it offers a faster and more convenient way to reach the mountain. Consider using a ride-sharing app for potentially better rates, but ensure the driver is experienced with mountain roads.
Driving
The drive from Yerevan to Mount Aragats (Lake Kari) is about 97 km and takes roughly 2 hours. The route is straightforward, but be prepared for winding mountain roads as you approach the destination. Parking is available at Lake Kari, but it can get crowded during peak season. There are no toll roads on this route. Fuel costs for the round trip will vary depending on your vehicle but expect to pay around 6,000-8,000 AMD.
