Getting There

Walking
From the center of Vayk, head southwest towards the main road (Yerevan-Yeghegnadzor Highway). Walk along the main road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction where the road forks. Here, you will see signs for Yeghegnadzor. Take the road that leads you towards Yeghegnadzor. Continue walking on this road for approximately 4 kilometers. As you approach Yeghegnadzor, you will notice the landscape changing with more greenery and hills. Once you enter Yeghegnadzor, look for Shahumyan Street on your left after about 500 meters. Turn left onto Shahumyan Street and walk for about 200 meters. You will see Tanahat Monastery on your right. The monastery is located at the end of this street.

From Vayk, you can take a local bus or minibus heading towards Yeghegnadzor. These usually depart from the main bus station in Vayk. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the stop for Shahumyan Street in Yeghegnadzor. Once you get off, walk along Shahumyan Street for about 200 meters until you reach Tanahat Monastery, which will be on your right.
