From Yerevan, take the M-2 highway south towards Vayots Dzor. Continue on the M-2 until you reach the town of Artashat. From Artashat, follow signs towards Vayk. Once in Vayk, take the road to Amberd Fortress, which is clearly marked. The fortress is approximately 30 km from Vayk, and you will see signs directing you to Amberd Fortress. The drive takes about 1 hour. Note that parking is available near the fortress.

Take a bus or minivan from Yerevan to Vayots Dzor. These depart frequently from the main bus station. Once in Vayots Dzor, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for a local transport service to reach Amberd Fortress. The taxi ride from Vayots Dzor to the fortress will take approximately 30-40 minutes and cost around 3000-5000 AMD (Armenian Dram). Ensure you negotiate the fare before starting the trip.
