Car
From Vayots Dzor, head southeast on the M2 highway towards the town of Yeghegnadzor. After approximately 11 km, take the exit toward the road leading to Arates. Continue on this road for about 5 km. You will see signs for Arates Monastery. The last stretch of the road may be unpaved, so drive carefully. Parking is available near the monastery.
Public Transportation
Start at Yeghegnadzor bus station, where you can catch a marshrutka (minibus) heading towards Arates. The fare is usually around 500 AMD (Armenian Dram). Inform the driver of your destination; they will drop you off close to the monastery. From the drop-off point, it's a short walk of about 1 km uphill to reach Arates Monastery.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Arates and prefer to walk, take the local trails leading towards the monastery. Be prepared for a moderate hike, as the paths may be rugged and steep. Ensure you carry enough water and wear comfortable shoes.
