The bus fare from Yerevan to Vayk is approximately 1,500 AMD.

Gndevank Monastery, located in the Vayots Dzor province, stands as a testament to Armenia's rich religious and cultural history. Founded in 936 AD by Princess Sofia of Syunik, the monastery provided a spiritual refuge for the local population and served as a fortress. The name Gndevank is derived from Supan Gnduni, an Armenian Church martyr.The monastery complex includes the well-preserved Surb Astvatsatsin Church (Holy Mother of God), a gavit (forecourt), and other structures built with local pinkish stone. The church showcases traditional Armenian architectural elements, including decorative carvings, khachkars (cross-stones), and frescoes depicting biblical scenes. Inside the church, you can find traces of frescoes, including an image of Christ, and high-relief carvings of the four evangelists on the inner dome. An inscription above the main door translates to: 'I did not build this monastery for my sinful souls, but for you, the passers-by'.Gndevank's location in the steep gorge of the Arpa River, near the village of Gndevaz, enhances its charm and provides a tranquil atmosphere. The monastery is surrounded by rolling hills, lush greenery and the Arpa River valley. Despite being close to the popular Noravank Monastery, Gndevank remains relatively secluded, offering visitors a peaceful experience.
