Discover more about Grapefield Beach

Grapefield Beach presents a different side of Aruba, one that favors windswept beauty and solitude over the typical calm, resort-lined shores. Situated near Boca Grandi, this 600-meter stretch of beach offers a rare combination of cliffs and sandy expanses. The beach is characterized by its soft, white sand mixed with crushed coral. Unlike the island's western beaches, Grapefield is not ideal for swimming due to strong currents and trade winds. Instead, it attracts experienced surfers and kiteboarders who come to ride the consistent waves. The beach is also perfect for leisurely strolls, beachcombing, and picnics. Keep an eye out for sea turtles nesting in the sand and northern crested caracaras perched on cacti. Grapefield Beach earned its name from the sea grape plants that once flourished here. Although their numbers have dwindled, you might still spot some and enjoy their sweet, edible grapes. Colorful wooden shacks dot the landscape, providing shelter for surfers. Remember to bring everything you need, as Grapefield Beach is undeveloped and has no facilities.
