Walking
From Cannonvale Beach, the Bicentennial Walkway is easily accessible on foot. Simply head towards the foreshore and follow the paved path. The walkway meanders along the coast, offering stunning views of the Coral Sea and Whitsunday Islands. The path is well-maintained and relatively flat, making it suitable for a leisurely stroll. Allow approximately 45 minutes to an hour to walk the full length to Airlie Beach. There are several access points along the way, including near the Whitsunday Shopping Centre.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus from Airlie Beach, disembark at a stop along Shute Harbour Road in Cannonvale. From there, walk towards the coast and access the Bicentennial Walkway. The walk to the walkway from the bus stop is short, and the path is clearly marked. A single bus fare from Airlie Beach to Cannonvale costs approximately $1 - $2. Whitsunday Transit provides frequent services between Airlie Beach and Cannonvale.
Driving
If driving, head towards Cannonvale from Airlie Beach via Shute Harbour Road. Turn onto Unnamed Road, where you will find the Bicentennial Walkway. Limited parking is available along the road. Parking is free. From the parking area, the walkway is a short walk away. Be mindful of parking restrictions and time limits.
