Getting There

    From Airlie Beach, a taxi to the Mount Rooper carpark, a common starting point for hikes, takes approximately 15 minutes and costs between $35 and $45. Taxis Whitsunday provides this service.

  • Public Transport

    The Whitsunday Transit bus from Airlie Beach to Shute Harbour can drop you at trailheads. The bus runs every one to two hours. Check the current schedule and fares on the Whitsunday Transit website.

  • Driving

    From Airlie Beach, follow Shute Harbour Road southeast. To reach the Conway day-use area, it's about 7km. Continue further along Shute Harbour Road to access other trailheads, such as the Swamp Bay/Mount Rooper carpark (8km) or the Coral Beach carpark (10km, then 1km on Whitsunday Drive). Parking is available at these locations. There are no toll roads on the way to Conway National Park.
