The falls can be admired from a viewing platform a short walk from the car park, providing an elevated perspective of the water cascading over basalt rocks. For a closer encounter, adventurous visitors can take an unofficial, steep track down to the base of the falls. The pool at the bottom is rocky and not ideal for swimming, but wading and admiring the powerful cascade are popular activities.
Located on Theresa Creek Road, Zillie Falls is easily accessible and well-signposted, making it a convenient addition to any Atherton Tablelands itinerary. The surrounding rainforest teems with life, and keen observers might spot a colony of flying foxes near the car park. The best time to visit is during the wet season (December to March) when the waterfall is at its fullest.

Getting There
Driving
Zillie Falls is located on the Waterfall Circuit (Theresa Creek Road) near Millaa Millaa. From Cairns, drive south on the Bruce Highway, then inland towards the Atherton Tablelands. Follow signs to Millaa Millaa. Once near the town, turn onto Theresa Creek Road. The falls are well-signposted. There is a free car park opposite the access track to the falls. Parking is free.
Public Transport
Limited public transport options are available. A bus can be taken from Atherton to Malanda. From there, local taxi services might be available to reach Zillie Falls, but this should be pre-booked. Given the limited public transport, renting a car is highly recommended.
