If you're in Atherton's town center, Platypus Park is easily accessible by foot. Head east on Main Street, which turns into Herberton Road. The park is a short walk, approximately 15-30 minutes, along Herberton Road. Follow the pedestrian paths, and you'll find the park on your right, next to the railway.

Trans North Bus & Coach operates services between Cairns and Atherton. From the Atherton bus stop on Main Street , walk along Main Street, which turns into Herberton Road. The park is a short walk along Herberton Road. A one-way bus fare from Cairns to Atherton is approximately AUD 20-25.
