From Atherton, head south on the Main Street (Murray Street). Continue onto the Kennedy Highway (State Route 1) heading towards Cairns. Drive approximately 10 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating Wongabel State Forest on your left. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will arrive at the entrance of Wongabel State Forest. There is no entry fee.

Once you reach Cairns, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to Wongabel State Forest as there are no direct public transport options to the forest from Cairns.
