Discover more about Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower

The Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower, a landmark since 1930, offers a unique perspective on the city's history and evolution. The tower stands 92 meters high, with an observation platform at 76 meters. Free tours, departing from the Museum of Brisbane, take visitors up in a beautiful, old, hand-operated lift. Once the tallest structure in Brisbane, the clock tower's observation deck provides 360-degree views of the cityscape. The clock itself was the largest and most modern in Australia when built. Each of the four faces is almost 5 meters in diameter, with minute hands 3 meters long. The clock's Westminster chimes resonate throughout the city on the quarter-hour. The tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane's oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia's largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. The tower had a red glowing sphere on its apex, which acted as an aviation beacon. The clock was designed and built by Brisbane Jackson family firm Synchronome Electrical Company.
