Walking
If you are in the heart of New Farm, start by heading north on Brunswick Street towards the intersection with Merthyr Road. Once you reach the intersection, turn left onto Merthyr Road. Continue walking along Merthyr Road until you reach the end of the road, where it meets the Brisbane River. At this point, you will see a footpath. Follow the footpath along the riverbank, enjoying the scenic views. After a short walk, you will reach the entrance to Newstead Park, where Newstead House is located. The house is situated on the corner of Breakfast Creek Road and Newstead Avenue.
Public Transport - Bus
From any location in New Farm, you can catch a Brisbane City Council bus. Look for bus stops along Brunswick Street. Take the number 195 bus towards the city. After a short ride, get off at the stop 'Breakfast Creek Road at Newstead Avenue.' From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Newstead House. Head north on Breakfast Creek Road, and you'll see the entrance to Newstead Park on your left.
Public Transport - Ferry
If you prefer a scenic route, walk to the New Farm Park Ferry Terminal located at the end of Sydney Street. Board the CityCat ferry heading towards North Quay. Enjoy a beautiful ride along the Brisbane River. Disembark at the Howard Smith Wharves terminal. From there, you can walk along the riverbank towards Newstead House. Follow the path along the river until you reach the entrance to Newstead Park.
