Discover more about Husk Farm Distillery

Husk Farm Distillery is a family-owned distillery located in North Tumbulgum, in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. Inspired by the rum culture of the Caribbean, the Messenger family embarked on a journey to create a plantation-style distillery on their cattle and cane farm. Husk is unique as it's Australia's only single estate, paddock-to-bottle rum distillery. This means they grow their sugarcane on-site and use the fresh juice to create their rum. Visitors can take a guided tour to learn about the distilling process of both rum and gin, from harvesting the cane to fermentation, distillation, and bottling. The distillery also features a cellar door, bar, and cafe, making it a great location for lunch or a snack while enjoying a gin or rum tasting. Husk is known for its Ink Gin, a color-changing gin made with butterfly pea flower, and its Australian Cultivated Rum (ACR). The distillery is open seven days a week and is a popular destination for day-trippers. Located on 150 acres on the banks of the Tweed River, Husk Farm Distillery offers views across the valley to Wollumbin (Mount Warning) and the border ranges. The Tweed Valley is part of the Green Caldera, the eroded core of an ancient shield volcano, with rich red volcanic soil that supports a growing agri-tourism industry.
