From Byron Bay, head to the nearest bus stop located on Jonson Street. Take the bus route 640 towards Lennox Head. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Request to stop at Lake Ainsworth, which is a designated stop along the route. Once you get off the bus, you will see the lake directly in front of you.
Bicycle
If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in Byron Bay. Start from the town center and head down Lawson Street towards the beach. Follow the coastal bike path north, which will lead you to the Byron Bay Lighthouse and then continue onto the path towards Lennox Head. It's about a 15 km ride and will take approximately 1 hour. When you reach Lennox Head, follow the signs to Lake Ainsworth.
Walking
For those feeling adventurous and physically fit, you can walk to Lake Ainsworth from Byron Bay. Start from the Byron Bay town center and head north along the coastline. Follow the walking path along the beach until you reach Lennox Head. This walk is approximately 15 km and will take around 3 to 4 hours depending on your pace. Once you arrive in Lennox Head, Lake Ainsworth will be a short walk from the beach.
Taxi/ rideshare
You can also opt for a taxi or rideshare service like Uber from Byron Bay to Lake Ainsworth. Simply request a ride from your location in Byron Bay and enter 'Lake Ainsworth, Lennox Head' as your destination. The ride will take around 20 minutes, depending on traffic.
