Bus
From Cairns city center, head to the Cairns Central Bus Station located at 51 Grafton St, Cairns City QLD 4870. You can take the Sunbus service 110 or 111 towards Kuranda. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the 'Kuranda' stop. From there, follow the signs to Wrights Lookout Rd, which is about a 15-minute walk. Head towards the Kuranda Scenic Railway and follow the path leading uphill towards Barron Gorge National Park.
Tourist Shuttle
There are various tourist shuttle services available in Cairns that offer direct routes to Kuranda. You can book a shuttle through your hotel or at local tourist information centers. The shuttle will drop you off at the Kuranda Village. From the village, it’s a short 15-20 minute walk to Wrights Lookout Rd, where you can find the entrance to Barron Gorge National Park.
Bicycle
If you are feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the bike rental shops in Cairns. Head towards the Cairns Esplanade and follow the bike path north towards Kuranda. The ride is approximately 25 kilometers and will take about 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach Kuranda, navigate to Wrights Lookout Rd, which is a short uphill ride from the village.
Walking
If you are staying near the Cairns Esplanade, you can take a scenic walk to the Kuranda Skyrail station. The walk will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. From the Skyrail station, take the gondola to Kuranda. Once at Kuranda, follow the signs to Wrights Lookout Rd, which is approximately a 15-20 minute walk uphill.
