Driving

From the Pacific Highway, take the Blue Wren Drive exit towards Wybung. Follow Blue Wren Drive, then turn onto Tea Tree Walk. Continue to the end of Tea Tree Walk to reach the Tea Tree Lookout car park. Note that a park entry fee of $8 per vehicle per day applies. Parking is available, but can be limited during peak times.

Public Transport

Take bus route 99, 2192, 2658, or 2663 to the Pacific Hwy at Blue Wren Dr stop. From there, it's approximately a 3-minute walk to the entrance of Munmorah State Conservation Area. Follow Blue Wren Drive, then turn onto Tea Tree Walk and continue to the Tea Tree Lookout, adding about 20-30 minutes to the journey. A single bus fare is around $2.20 - $4.80.

Overview

Tea Tree Lookout, nestled in the Munmorah State Conservation Area in Wybung, New South Wales, is a scenic destination offering panoramic views of the coastline and the adjacent Birdie Beach. This popular spot is renowned for its excellent vantage point for whale watching, especially during the migration season.Visitors can enjoy the free picnic tables and gas barbecues available, making it an ideal location for a family outing or a relaxed lunch amidst nature. The lookout also provides surfers with a valuable spot to assess surf conditions before heading down to Birdie Beach via the boardwalk. The Munmorah State Conservation Area is open from 5:30 am to 9:00 pm during daylight savings time and until 7:00 pm during the rest of the year.While swimming at Birdie Beach is possible, visitors are advised to exercise caution due to strong waves and rips. The lookout is easily accessible by car, with parking available, though a park entry fee applies.
