Car
From Melbourne, take the M8 highway towards Ballarat. Continue on the M8 for about 100 km until you reach the Ballarat exit. Once you've exited, follow the signs to Ballarat Central. As you enter the city, turn onto Sturt Street, which is the main thoroughfare. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Lydiard Street. Turn left onto Lydiard Street, then take the first right onto Umbrella Laneway. There is limited street parking available in the area, so be sure to check for parking signs.
Public Transportation
If you are traveling by train, take a V/Line service from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Ballarat Station. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival at Ballarat Station, exit the station and walk towards Lydiard Street. Turn left and walk approximately 10 minutes until you reach Umbrella Laneway, located just off Lydiard Street. Please note that train tickets cost around $20-$30 AUD depending on the time of travel.
Bus
You can also take a bus from various locations in Central Victoria to Ballarat. Check the local bus service for schedules and routes. Once you arrive in Ballarat, disembark at the Ballarat CBD stop and walk towards Lydiard Street, where you will find Umbrella Laneway just a short walk away. Bus fares vary, so please consult the bus service for specific costs.
