Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the Daintree Rainforest area, take the scenic drive towards Port Douglas. Head south on Mossman-Daintree Road (State Route 48) and continue until you reach the junction with Captain Cook Highway (State Route 44). Turn left onto Captain Cook Highway and continue for approximately 20 km. Follow the signs to Port Douglas. Once in Port Douglas, head to Murphy Street and look for 50 Murphy St, where you’ll find the parking area for the 4 Mile Beach Lookout. There is no fee for parking.

• Public Transport

  To reach the 4 Mile Beach Lookout via public transport, you can take a bus from the Daintree Rainforest to Port Douglas. The bus service typically runs a few times a day, so be sure to check the schedule ahead of time. Once you arrive in Port Douglas, head towards Murphy Street, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Walk along Murphy Street until you reach 50 Murphy St, and follow the signs for 4 Mile Beach Lookout. Note that there may be a small fee for the bus fare, depending on your starting location.

• Walking

  If you're already in Port Douglas and would like to walk to the 4 Mile Beach Lookout, start from the main bus terminal located in Port Douglas. Walk south on Macrossan Street until you reach Murphy Street. Turn left onto Murphy Street and continue walking until you reach 50 Murphy St. Follow the path leading to the lookout, which offers stunning views of the beach and surrounding areas. This walk is approximately 1.5 km and should take about 20-30 minutes.
