Car
If you're driving from the Daintree Rainforest, start by heading southwest towards Cape Tribulation Road. Continue on Cape Tribulation Road for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction with Mossman-Daintree Road. At this junction, turn left onto Mossman-Daintree Road and follow it until you reach the Captain Cook Highway (approximately 15 km). Turn right onto the Captain Cook Highway and continue south for about 25 km. You will arrive at Great Barrier Reef Drive, located in Port Douglas. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Port Douglas to Daintree Rainforest. However, to reach Great Barrier Reef Drive, you will first need to take a bus from the Daintree Visitor Centre to Port Douglas. This will require you to check the local bus schedule, as services may vary. Once in Port Douglas, you can either walk or take a taxi to Great Barrier Reef Drive. Expect the bus fare to be around AUD 15-20 one way. Keep in mind that bus schedules may not run late, so plan your return accordingly.
