The underground tour reveals the challenges of early mining, with narrow tunnels and low ceilings. Knowledgeable guides share stories of the miners' lives, who worked long hours by candlelight. Above ground, a replica miners' hut and the remains of the smelter showcase the mining operations. After the tour, visitors can relax in the tearoom and enjoy Cornish cream tea with freshly baked scones.
The mine is located 20km from Broken Hill on Silverton Road, in the Apollyon Valley. It attracted a settlement of around 500 people. The mine operated sporadically until it was opened as a tourist attraction. Today, the Historic Daydream Mine offers a unique and memorable experience for those interested in Australia's mining heritage.

The Historic Daydream Mine is located approximately 20km northwest of Silverton, via Silverton Road. From Silverton, follow Silverton Road; the mine is well-signposted. Parking is available on-site. Note that the final stretch is along a well-maintained dirt road. There are no parking fees.
