Getting There

  • Walking

    The Big Duck Boat Tours depart from the Granite Island Causeway, approximately a 15-20 minute walk from the Victor Harbor Visitor Information Centre. From the visitor center, walk east along the Esplanade, following the coastline towards Granite Island. The departure point is located about a third of the way across the causeway. Note that the causeway is exposed and offers no shelter. There is accessible parking at the end of the causeway. Parking fees apply in the area.

  • Public Transport

    From the Victor Harbor bus interchange, walk east along Ocean Street, then turn left onto the Esplanade. Follow the Esplanade to the Granite Island Causeway, approximately a 15-minute walk. The Big Duck departure point is located about a third of the way across the causeway. Alternatively, the Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram provides transport from the mainland to Granite Island, but only goes part of the way across the causeway. Tram tickets cost $25 for adults return, $15 one way. Children 0-13 travel free with a paying adult. From the tram stop, it is a short walk to the departure point.

  • Driving

    From Adelaide, follow the Main South Road (A13) to Victor Harbor. Once in Victor Harbor, follow signs to Granite Island. Parking is available near the causeway, but can be limited, especially during peak season. Parking fees apply. From the car park, walk along the Granite Island Causeway towards Granite Island. The Big Duck departure point is located about a third of the way across the causeway.
