The road winds through Arkaba Station and Merna Mora Station, offering glimpses into pastoral life. Keep an eye out for native wildlife such as emus, kangaroos, and wallabies along the way. The drive is particularly scenic in late winter and spring when wildflowers bloom, adding vibrant colors to the landscape. Approximately 15km into the drive, a signpost indicates the turnoff to Black Gap Lookout. The historic Old Cueing Yards, dating back to the 1870s, are another point of interest along the drive. These yards were used to hold bullocks that hauled native pines for the construction of the Overland Telegraph Line.

Parking is available along the drive at various lookout points.
