    The Mount Ohlssen-Bagge hike starts near the Wilpena Pound Visitor Centre. From the visitor center, follow the main trails towards Pound Gap. The trail branches off to begin the ascent of Mount Ohlssen-Bagge. Look for orange markers along the trail. The hike is a 6.8km round trip and takes approximately 3-4 hours.

  • Driving

    To reach the Wilpena Pound Visitor Centre, drive north from Adelaide. The drive is approximately 5 hours. Once you arrive at the Wilpena Pound Resort, parking is available. From the parking area, it is a short walk to the trailhead. A National Park Pass is required for entry into Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park and costs $12.50 per vehicle for a day pass.

The mountain was originally named Mount Ohlssen-Bagge in 1851 after an engineer who was a business partner of the surveyor Frederick Sinnett. For a time, it was also known as Mount John.
