Car
If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards the town of Loy Yang. From Traralgon, take the Princes Highway (A1) heading southeast. After approximately 10 km, turn right onto Loy Yang Road. Continue on Loy Yang Road for about 5 km, and you will see signs for Miners Lookout on your left. The lookout has a small parking area where you can safely park your vehicle.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train from Melbourne to Traralgon via V/Line services. Once you arrive in Traralgon, you will need to catch a local bus or taxi to reach Loy Yang. Currently, there are limited bus services, so check local schedules in advance. If you opt for a taxi, it will take approximately 15 minutes to reach Miners Lookout from Traralgon. Be prepared for taxi fares that can range from $30 to $50 AUD, depending on the time of day and traffic conditions.
Walking (from parking area)
Once you arrive at the Miners Lookout parking area, it's a short walk to the lookout itself. Follow the clearly marked path from the parking lot, which takes about 5-10 minutes on foot. The lookout offers stunning views of the open-cut mines and the Loy Yang power station, so take your time to enjoy the scenery!
