Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Melbourne, take the M1 freeway towards Gippsland. After about 90 minutes, take the exit for the M420 towards Moe. Continue on the M420 for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the town of Moe. From Moe, take the Baw Baw Tourist Road (C460) towards Mount Baw Baw. This scenic drive will take you through lush forests and picturesque landscapes. Follow the signs for Mount Baw Baw, and after about 45 minutes, you will arrive at Baw Baw Village. The last stretch of road to the summit is a steep incline, so ensure your vehicle is in good condition. There is a parking fee of approximately $10 per vehicle for access to the summit area.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transport, you can take a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Moe. The journey takes about 2 hours. Once in Moe, you can catch a bus to Mount Baw Baw, operated by the Snow Globe Bus service during the ski season. Be sure to check the schedule in advance, as services may be limited outside of peak seasons. The bus ride will take around 1 hour, and you may need to pay around $30 for a return ticket. Make sure to confirm the bus times for your return trip.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct route and are willing to spend a bit more, consider using a taxi or rideshare service from Moe to Mount Baw Baw. This option is convenient, especially if you're traveling with a group. The ride from Moe to Baw Baw Village will take about 45 minutes, and the fare may range from $80 to $120 depending on the service and time of day.
