Narracan Falls: A Tranquil Gippsland Escape

Narracan Falls is a charming destination located in the Narracan Falls Streamside Reserve, approximately 15 km south of Moe and a short drive from Trafalgar in eastern Victoria. The falls, sourced by the Narracan Creek, cascade down an 8-meter rock face into a pool below, creating a serene and picturesque environment. The reserve provides a delightful setting for a relaxing day out. Visitors can enjoy a picnic by the falls, with picnic tables and fire pits available. The area is also known for its population of cows, which sometimes share the grassy paddock with visitors. A walking track leads to the base of the falls, allowing for closer views and exploration of the surrounding scenery. The track continues downstream, revealing a beautiful old oak tree with a hollowed-out trunk. While swimming in the pool at the base of the falls was once a popular activity, it is now generally discouraged due to poor visibility and submerged rocks. Instead, visitors can enjoy the calming sounds of the cascading water, explore the creek, and take in the views of the surrounding farmland.
