Depending on your starting point, you may need to navigate through local roads to get to the Western Highway. Once on the A8, continue driving until you reach the intersection with the Glenelg Highway (B160). Take the Glenelg Highway exit towards Hamilton. Continue on the Glenelg Highway until you see the signs for Nigretta Falls. Turn onto Nigretta Falls Access Rd, which will lead you directly to the parking area near the falls. There is no entrance fee to access the falls.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, start by taking a bus from your location in the Grampians to Hamilton. V/Line operates services from major towns in the Grampians to Hamilton. Once you arrive in Hamilton, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to Nigretta Falls, as there are no direct public transport options to the falls. The taxi ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes and will incur a fare, which can vary. It’s advisable to check local taxi services in advance for estimated costs.
Walking (from parking area)
Once you arrive at Nigretta Falls Access Rd, park your vehicle in the designated parking area. From the parking lot, follow the marked walking trail which is approximately a 500-meter walk to the viewing platforms of Nigretta Falls. The trail is relatively flat and suitable for most fitness levels, making it accessible for families and casual walkers.
