Car
If you're driving in the High Country, Cactus Country is located at 4986 Murray Valley Hwy, Strathmerton VIC 3641. From Bright, take the Great Alpine Road (B500) towards Wangaratta. Continue on the Hume Freeway (M31) until you reach the exit for Murray Valley Highway (B400) towards Strathmerton. Follow the B400 for approximately 45 kilometers. Cactus Country will be on your right as you approach Strathmerton. Parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach Cactus Country via public transportation, take a V/Line train from Melbourne to Wangaratta. From Wangaratta, catch a local bus to Strathmerton (check local schedules for bus times). Once you arrive in Strathmerton, Cactus Country is a short 5-minute taxi ride away or approximately a 20-minute walk along Murray Valley Highway. Note that bus and train tickets will incur charges, so check the V/Line website for up-to-date pricing.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route after using public transport, consider using a taxi or rideshare service from Strathmerton to Cactus Country. The fare will typically be around AUD 10-15 for the short trip. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.
