Car
If you are driving, start from the town of Mount Isa. Head northeast on Camooweal St toward West St. Continue on Camooweal St for about 3 km until you reach the intersection with the Barkly Hwy (A2). Turn left onto the Barkly Hwy. After approximately 1.5 km, you will see signs for Lookout Rd. Turn right onto Lookout Rd and follow it for about 1.5 km until you reach the Mt Isa Lookout parking area. Parking is free.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, you can take a local bus from Mount Isa's city center to the nearest bus stop at the base of Lookout Rd. Check with the local bus service for the current schedule as it may vary. Once you arrive at the bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 km up Lookout Rd to reach the Mt Isa Lookout. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a slight incline.
Walking
If you are close to the Mt Isa Lookout, you can choose to walk. From the center of Mount Isa, it is about a 5 km walk to the lookout. Head northeast on Camooweal St, then follow the same route as if you were driving, turning onto Lookout Rd. The walk is mostly uphill, so ensure you have water and wear appropriate walking shoes for comfort.
