Car
If you're traveling by car, start by heading to Cedar Valley, NSW 2787. From Sydney, take the M5 Motorway and continue on the M7 to the Great Western Highway (A32). Follow the A32 to Katoomba and then take the Scenic World Road. After that, follow the signs to the Ruined Castle car park, which is the starting point for the walking track. Keep in mind that there may be a parking fee, so be sure to bring some cash or a card. Once parked, the walking track to Ruined Castle begins at the car park.
Public Transport
For those using public transportation, catch a train from Sydney to Katoomba Station on the Blue Mountains Line. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes approximately two hours. Once you arrive at Katoomba Station, you can take a taxi or rideshare to the Ruined Castle walking track entrance, which is about a 10-minute drive from the station. Be sure to check the local taxi services for estimated fares and availability before your trip.
Walking
The walking track to Ruined Castle is approximately 2.5 kilometers from the car park. It is a well-marked track that takes about 1-1.5 hours to walk. The trail is moderately challenging with some steep sections. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry water. As you approach Ruined Castle, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding Blue Mountains.
