To reach Bluff Hut from anywhere in the High Country by car, start by heading towards Mount Buller, located in Victoria. If you are coming from Mansfield, take the Mt Buller Road (C509) directly to Mount Buller. The drive is approximately 40 km and takes about an hour. Once you arrive at Mount Buller, look for the signposts directing you to Bluff Hut. You will need a 4WD vehicle to navigate the unsealed roads leading to Bluff Hut, especially during the winter months when snow may be present.

Public Transport

If you prefer to use public transport, you can take a bus from Melbourne to Mansfield. The bus service is operated by V/Line and runs regularly. From Mansfield, you can take a local taxi or ride-sharing service to Mount Buller. Once at Mount Buller, you will still need a 4WD vehicle to reach Bluff Hut. It is advisable to book a taxi in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons or weekends, as local transport options can be limited.
