If you are driving from a central location in High Country, head towards the nearest major town or city with access to the Great Northern Highway (National Route 1). Depending on your starting point, you may use local roads to connect to this highway. Continue on the Great Northern Highway until you reach the turn-off for Purnululu National Park. Follow the signs directing you into the park. Please note that the road conditions can vary, and a 4WD vehicle is recommended for the last stretch. Entry to Purnululu National Park incurs a fee, typically around AUD 13 per vehicle, which must be paid at the entrance. Once inside the park, follow the signs to Cathedral Gorge, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from the entrance.

Public transport options to Cathedral Gorge are limited. The closest major town with bus services is Kununurra, which is approximately 250 km from Purnululu National Park. From Kununurra, you can take a charter bus or tour service that offers trips into Purnululu National Park. Make sure to book in advance as these services can fill up quickly. The tour usually includes park entry fees and can cost around AUD 200-300 per person. Upon arriving at Purnululu National Park, follow the designated paths to Cathedral Gorge, which is about a 30-minute walk from the main parking area.
