Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major town in the High Country, such as Bright or Albury. From Bright, take the Great Alpine Road (B500) toward Wangaratta. Continue on the B500 until you reach the town of Wangaratta, then merge onto the Hume Freeway (M31) heading north. Follow the Hume Freeway until you reach the exit for the town of Holbrook (exit 678). From Holbrook, take the B400 toward Culcairn, and then take the B51 toward Walla Walla. Continue on the B51 until you reach the intersection with the Hume Highway (M31). Take the Hume Highway south until you reach the exit for Albury. Finally, follow the signs to the Port Jackson Bay area, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from Albury.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, you can take a bus from Bright or Wangaratta to Albury. From Albury, you can catch a local bus or taxi to reach Port Jackson Bay. The bus service from Bright to Albury is operated by V/Line, and the journey typically takes around 2-3 hours. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary. Once in Albury, local taxis are available or you can use ridesharing apps to get to Port Jackson Bay, which is about 30 minutes away by car.
Combination
For a combination of both methods, consider driving to Wangaratta and then taking the train to Albury. The train ride offers beautiful scenic views of the countryside and takes about 1.5 hours. From Albury station, you can use local transport options (bus or taxi) to reach Port Jackson Bay. Ensure to check the train schedules and book a ticket in advance, as this route is popular among tourists.
