From Salamanca Place, walk north towards St. David's Park. Continue straight, crossing the road to enter St. David's Park. Exit at the northern end and head east towards Macquarie Street. Turn left onto Macquarie Street, and the entrance to Parliament House Gardens will be on your right, adjacent to Parliament House. This is a short, easy walk from a popular tourist area.

Most buses in the Metro network depart from Elizabeth Street or Franklin Square. Check the Hobart Network guide for your specific route to Macquarie Street, near Parliament House. From there, it's a short walk to the gardens. As of July 2025, half-price fares are available on Tasmanian public transport until June 2026. A single ride with a Greencard costs approximately $1.12 - $2.00, while a cash fare is $1.60 - $2.48. A Greencard costs $5.

If driving, approach Parliament House from Murray Street. Limited parking is available in front of Parliament House, with entry from Murray Street. This car park is operated by the Rotary Club of Sullivans Cove on Saturdays, with proceeds funding community projects. Parking is available on Saturday from 8 AM to 1 PM, and cars can remain until 5 PM but cannot enter after 1 PM. Alternatively, there are several city center car parks within walking distance, such as Argyle Street, Centrepoint, and Hobart Central car parks. Parking fees vary, but expect to pay around $3 - $6 per hour.
