Car
If you're driving, start by heading towards the southern parts of Illawarra. From Wollongong, take the Crown Street exit onto the Princes Highway (A1). Continue south for about 7 kilometers. Follow the signs for Port Kembla, taking a left onto Lake Street. Continue on Lake Street until you reach the beach parking area. Parking is usually available, but check for any fees that may apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Port Kembla Beach using public transport, start at the Wollongong train station. Board a South Coast Line train heading towards Kiama and alight at Port Kembla station (approximately 15 minutes). From the station, you can take a local bus (Route 55 or 56) that will take you directly to the beach. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule as it may vary during weekends and holidays.
Walking from Public Transport
If you prefer to walk from Port Kembla station to the beach, exit the station and turn right onto the main road (Coral Street). Walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers.
