Discover more about Thredbo Bobsled

For over three decades, the Thredbo Bobsled provided thrills and laughter to countless visitors. The 700-meter luge-style track wound its way down the mountain, offering riders a unique and exciting experience. With a simple brake to control the speed, the bobsled catered to both the young and the young at heart, creating lasting memories for families and individuals alike. The Bobsled's design allowed riders to sit on a metal mat-like tray and navigate the twists and turns of the track. The upward journey involved being pulled to the top on a motorized traction belt, followed by a thrilling descent with the rider in control. While the Bobsled was a beloved attraction, it was also known to be a bit temperamental, disliking snow or frosty conditions. However, it thrived during spring, summer, and autumn, becoming a popular activity during those seasons. Although the Thredbo Bobsled is now closed, its legacy lives on in the memories of those who experienced its thrills. In its place, Thredbo has introduced the Alpine Coaster, a year-round attraction that promises similar excitement. The site of the former Bobsled will be transformed into a new mountain bike trail.
