Discover more about Crocosaurus Cove

Crocosaurus Cove, situated in the heart of Darwin's CBD on Mitchell Street, is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Darwin and the Top End. Opened on July 15th, 2008, this $32 million venture has revitalized a previously unused area, transforming it into one of Darwin's leading tourist destinations. The main focus of Crocosaurus Cove is the saltwater crocodile, a common and iconic animal in northern Australia. The facility boasts the world's largest display of Australian reptiles, with many species originating from the Top End, the Kimberley, and the desert regions of Australia. In addition to crocodiles, visitors can see a wide variety of other reptiles, including venomous snakes like the king brown and inland taipan, as well as numerous Australian pythons. Crocosaurus Cove is also the only public facility in the world to house the extremely rare Oenpelli python, the longest snake found in the Northern Territory. Crocosaurus Cove offers a range of interactive experiences, including the famous Cage of Death, Australia's only crocodile dive, where visitors can swim with some of the largest saltwater crocodiles in the world. For a less intense experience, visitors can swim with juvenile crocodiles, feed the crocs from the 'Fishing for Crocs' platform, or hold a baby crocodile for a photo. The park also features a 200,000-litre freshwater aquarium with barramundi, archer fish, whiprays, and turtles in the Top End Turtle Billabong. With 10 reptile shows daily, there are plenty of hands-on and educational activities to enjoy.
