If you are travelling by car, start from Alice Springs, which is about 20 kilometers away from Clay Pans. Take the Stuart Highway (National Route 87) heading south for about 10 kilometers. Then, turn left onto Ilparpa Road and continue for approximately 10 kilometers. Look for signs to Clay Pans; the entrance will be on your left. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited services once you are in the ranges.

For those using public transportation, take the bus from Alice Springs to the nearest stop along the Stuart Highway. From the bus stop, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance to Clay Pans, as public transport does not directly serve this area. Taxis may cost around AUD 30-40 for the ride to Clay Pans from the nearest bus stop.
Walking
