Bordered by Spencer Street, Flinders Street Viaduct, and King Street, this urban park offers a blend of history and recreation.Originally part of the Wurundjeri nation's territory and later a site for cargo facilities, the area was transformed into a park in 1982. Named in honor of John Batman, a significant figure in Melbourne's early settlement, the park serves as a reminder of the city's past.Visitors can enjoy paved walking paths, relax under the shade of eucalyptus trees, and take in views of the Yarra River. While compact at 1.6 hectares, Batman Park offers picnic areas and BBQ facilities, making it ideal for gatherings. The park's location also provides easy access to nearby attractions such as the Crown Entertainment Complex and Melbourne Aquarium.In 1997, Batman Park was divided, with the eastern section becoming Enterprize Park, commemorating the schooner that landed there in 1835. This area features a recreated 1850s turning basin and sculptures reflecting the site's maritime history.
