From the Melbourne city center, head to the nearest tram stop, Flinders Street Station. Take tram number 19 (towards North Coburg) or tram number 58 (towards Toorak). Stay on the tram for approximately 15-20 minutes and get off at the stop named 'Royal Park (Zoo)'. From the tram stop, walk approximately 5 minutes along Elliott Avenue to reach Melbourne Zoo.
Train
Start your journey at Southern Cross Station in the city. Take the Upfield Line train towards Upfield and get off at Royal Park Station. Once you exit the station, walk about 10-15 minutes towards Elliott Avenue, following the signs to Melbourne Zoo.

Find a bus stop in the city center, such as the one at Queen Street. Take bus route 505 (towards Moonee Ponds). Get off at the stop 'Elliott Ave/Royal Park'. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the entrance of Melbourne Zoo.
Walking
If you're near the Royal Park area, you can easily walk to Melbourne Zoo. Simply head towards Elliott Avenue, and keep walking straight for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the zoo entrance.
