Getting There

  • Tram

    From the Melbourne CBD, head to the nearest tram stop on Swanston Street. Catch tram number 96 or 16 towards St Kilda. Stay on the tram for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the 'St Kilda' stop. Once you disembark, walk towards the beach along Fitzroy Street and then turn left onto the Lower Esplanade. The Palais Theatre will be on your right, facing the beach.

  • Train

    From Flinders Street Station, take the Sandringham train line towards Sandringham. Get off at the 'Balaclava' station (approximately a 15-minute journey). From Balaclava Station, exit and head west on Carlisle Street until you reach the intersection with Barkly Street. Turn left onto Barkly Street and continue straight until you reach the Lower Esplanade. Turn right onto Lower Esplanade, and the Palais Theatre will be on your left.

  • Bus

    Find a bus stop in the city (for example, along Collins Street) and take bus number 246 towards Elsternwick. After about 30 minutes, alight at the 'St Kilda - Lower Esplanade' stop. From there, walk east along the Esplanade, and the Palais Theatre will be on your right.
