Train
From Southern Cross Station in Melbourne, catch a train on the Belgrave line. Make sure to check the train schedule, as trains may not run frequently, especially on weekends. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Belgrave Station, exit the station and follow the signs to Puffing Billy Railway, which is about a 5-minute walk from the station. Head east on the main road (Belgrave-Gembrook Road) and turn left onto Old Monbulk Road. Puffing Billy Railway will be on your right.

From Melbourne's CBD, take the 688 bus from the Melbourne Central bus terminal. The bus will take you directly to Belgrave. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as routes and times may vary. After arriving at the Belgrave bus stop, walk towards the railway station, which is a short 5-minute walk. Follow the same route as described for the train: head east on Belgrave-Gembrook Road and turn left onto Old Monbulk Road. Puffing Billy Railway will be on your right.
