If you are in the heart of Fitzroy, head east on Brunswick Street toward the intersection with Victoria Parade. Turn left onto Victoria Parade and walk straight for approximately 1 kilometer. After crossing the intersection with Wellington Parade, you will see the entrance to Fitzroy Gardens on your right. Enter the gardens and follow the walking paths to reach Cooks' Cottage, which is located near the eastern side of the gardens.

From Fitzroy, head to the nearest tram stop on Smith Street. Take Tram 86 towards Waterfront City Docklands. After a few stops, get off at the stop called 'Jolimont'.
