If you are driving, start from the Mount Field National Park Visitor Centre. Head south on the Gordon River Road (A10) for approximately 1.5 km. Turn right onto Lake Dobson Road, following the signs for Lake Dobson. Continue for about 6 km until you reach the Lake Dobson car park. From the car park, take the 'Stella's Tarn Track', which is well marked. It is a 1.5 km walk (approximately 30-45 minutes) to Stella's Tarn. The path is moderately steep and can be rocky, so wear appropriate footwear.

Currently, there are no direct public transportation options to Stella's Tarn. However, you can take a bus from Hobart to Mount Field National Park. Once you arrive at the park, you will need to walk to the Visitor Centre, and from there, follow the same route as above. It is approximately a 1.5 km walk to the car park, and then another 1.5 km hike to Stella's Tarn.
